A word of advice from Lagrange : Please, do respect the environment.
The Vaudoises Alps are located in the largest French speaking region of Switzerland in the Lac Leman area. The vast mountain ranged is capped by one of Switzerland's most impressive glaciers. Warm and welcoming villages can be found, with powdery pistes at the top, for the advanced skier as well as easy-access slopes for the family. Large forests and wide plains make for an ideal location for both cross-country skiing and snowshoe walking. In summer, the mountains become a focal point : high pastures, peaks and glaciers, chalets with colourful sculpted facades, and balconies or windows overflowing with flowers. It really is a great spot for sports enthusiasts : trekking. mountain bike, climbing, hang-gliding, white water sports etc. Romantic cruises on the nearby Lac Leman are a must. Make the most of your holiday by visiting Lausane -its gothic cathedral, traditional small shops and many museums, Chillon's medieval castle, Vallerbe's prehistoric caves etc. Many special events take place throughout the year : Montreux Jazz Festival in July, Comedy Film Festival in Vervey, 'Extreme Skiing' Documentaries in Diablerets etc.
