Le Vercors is a high forested plateau, ideal for mountain and nature lovers. The best sites are the Bourne gorges, Choranche caves, Rousset mountain pass and the scenic route of les Goulets. For those interested in gastronomy, visiting the Caves of Chartreuse, cheese farms (blue cheese and Saint-Marcellin) and the "ravioles" (small raviolis) factories is highly reccomended. Le Vercors has also 320km of cross-country ski trails for visitors to explore, including the famous "Traversee du Vercors" (Trans-Vercors Trail).
