Located on a wide, south-facing plateau in the Oisans mountain range, Alpe d'Huez (1800m) boasts both great snow levels and warm sunshine. The resort's location at the foot of a glacier and high altitude make it the perfect location for skiers of all abilities throughout the ski season. Alpe-d'Huez is divided into several districts: the "Quartier des Bergers", which is located closest to the slopes, the "Hameau de l'Eclose" area at the entrance to the resort, and "Le Centre".
CHILDREN The "Les Eterlous" nursery and kindergarten offers ski lessons and childcare to children aged 4 years and over, and the "Les Crapouilloux" nursery for children aged between 2 and 5 years offers an introduction to skiing to children aged 4 and over. For children aged 4 years and over, the ESF French Ski School offers ski tuition as well as a kindergarten.
OTHER ACTIVITIES As one of the resorts which make up the Grandes Rousses ski domaine, Alpe d'Huez offers skiers access to an impressive 250km of slopes, suitable for skiers of all abilities.
THE AREA As well as offering excellent skiing opportunities, Alpe-d'Huez also boasts great evening entertainment, including nightclubs, a range of pubs and local restaurants, as well as cinemas and shops.
